Continued from [GUIDE] Roleplaying basics (part 1) Roleplaying tools and hints The most common command used in roleplay is /me. /me is one of the main keys to outstanding roleplay. /me is used for interactions or movements which cannot be performed scriptwise, or which cannot be actually visible in the game. So when you're just walking around, you don't need to type a /me like, '/me is walking around.' No that's not necessary, because everybody near you can see that you're walking around, no need for a command like that in these cases. You do need to type a /me when you're gonna sit down in a corner of your house for example, because that's a movement or interaction which is not visible scriptwise, something which is not visible in the game, and still you'd like to roleplay sitting down somewhere. Then you do use a /me. Here's an example of how I would roleplay sitting down in a corner of my house: "/me makes his way to the corner of the room, slowly lowering his bottom as soon as he reached it, situating himself down onto the cold floor as he stares ahead of him." It doesn't need to be a large sentence like that, but just roleplaying something similar to clear out what you're doing to the players around you isn't bad, and creates more roleplay. The local IC chat should only be used as IC chat. Use it for what your character says, mainly. This chat should only have a range of 200 blocks around your character, so not everyone would be able to hear you, only people near you. Use your common sense. If you're talking to someone IC'ly infront of your house's door and you are standing behind the city walls, 100 to 150 blocks away, there's no way you can hear them talking. (Unless they're shouting really hard ofcourse, but still.). If you want your character to shout, perhaps you can type [Shouting] or [shout] before you are gonna type your sentence so the people around you know that your character is shouting, and that they might be able to hear you from far ,now that you are shouting. The same goes for whispering. Maybe there will be advanced plugins for this, but I'm not sure about that as of yet. _____ I hope that this post has some effect on how people roleplay, and I hope it might change their look on roleplay. This thread is directed to everyone.I've been writing this all by myself. Just remember that the key to realistic roleplay is 90% of the times using your common sense. It's all about having fun together, after all.
